What is Renewal?

Jewish Renewal is an ideology and a practice dedicated to carrying forward Judaism’s historical mission of helping make the world a better place for all humankind. In order for Judaism to remain viable it must constantly “renew the old and hallow the new”.

Jewish Renewal tries to accomplish this by focusing on three important aspects of Jewish cultural and religious life. The three aspects are Tradition, Spirituality, and Social Responsibility. To learn more about each of these three click the buttons right below

Tradition        Spirituality      Social Responsibility

Jewish Renewal as a movement is comparatively new and small in numbers. But beyond serving the needs and interests of its followers, Renewal makes a significant contribution to the wider religious community. It investigates and develops innovative approaches to ensuring Judaism’s vigor and viability. Many of these creative practices are then adopted by mainstream institutions. It is a contribution of which Jewish Renewal is justifiably proud.
