Our School Programs

We offer a ‘full-serve’ program for children from preschool through Bar/Bat Mitzvah grade levels. Membership in Shir Neshamah is not required for enrolling your child in any of our programs. Unaffiliated and interfaith families are particularly welcome.
Class size is limited to between six and eight students. Additionally, teachers may choose to have an aide; who is selected from among our qualified B’nai Mitzvah graduates. This arrangement assures each child of individualized attention.
Parents are involved in planning related to curriculum development, teacher selection, and administration. Also, classes are held in parents’ homes on a rotating basis. This non-formal environment, unlike the usual schoolroom setting, creates a peer community of children and adults. It takes a ‘village’ to raise a child….
We operate a minimal cost program. Volunteers handle all administrative duties. The only fees collected are those necessary to pay for teachers’ salaries, books and supplies. A special school fund makes short term tuition assistance available. Also, a special scholarship fund sponsored by The Endowment for Jewish Youth helps defray the cost of a child’s stay at a Jewish summer camp.
If, as a Jewish parent, you want to give your child a sturdy sense of pride in her or his heritage, our school may be the right place. To learn more about any of our programs click on the buttons at the bottom of this page.
