Introducing Shir Neshamah

Congregation Shir Neshamah is a family of chavurot (small groups) affiliated with the Jewish Renewal movement and located in Central Contra Costa County, California. We meet regularly to learn about Judaism’s teachings and practices, celebrate Shabbat and holidays, worship, make music and share potlucks. We also look for ways to make the world a better place for all.

Shir Neshamah also hosts ongoing programming to which all are invited.  Established members use these opportunities to refresh their connections with one another, while newer members network with other families and individuals who might be interested in forming new chavurot.  Through programming we recruit gifted rabbis and teachers who bring fresh ideas and spiritual depth to our community.  Our children are the future of Judaism, and so we have created a religious school with small classes and personalized instruction.
