Jewish Education Program

The general mission of our Jewish Education Program is to provide students with an understanding and appreciation of our heritage as a people. In order to accomplish this effectively we strive for an attractive learning environment including traditional learning, imaginative games and creative classroom projects.

The Program encompasses second through seventh grade and is organized into groups depending on age, aptitude and level of prior Jewish learning. Each class ranges in size from three to six children. Classes meet once a week for 1-1/2 or 2 hours, depending on grade. Sessions take place at the homes of enrolled students on a rotating basis.

The curriculum embraces four general areas of subject matte:

                (a) Hebrew: the ability to read vowelled text with moderate comprehension.

                (b) Jewish holidays: customs, ceremonies, and their cultural aspects.

                (c) Jewish history: watershed events marking the 3,000 years of this enduring  people’s existence.

                (d) Jewish values, ethics and beliefs.

The school year is divided into three trimesters (fall, winter, spring) each of approximately 12 weeks duration. Planned social events involving all grades as a community are scheduled throughout the school year. Costs are shared on a per student basis.

Contact us to schedule a class visit and find out why it takes a combination of mind, heart and hand to instill a secure Jewish identity within your child.
