Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program

A Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony is a significant event in the life of the celebrant. Because of the event's emotional impact, Shir Neshamah devotes much thought and attention to making this a momentous occasion.

Each Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration is designed with the individual candidate in mind, and each is supervised by Rabbi Groesberg personally. Celebrant, family and the rabbi collaborate in working out all aspects of the event: time and place, details of the worship service, selection of  the candidate’s Tikkun Olam project, etc.

Our rabbi works with the candidate in developing an understanding of the spiritual and moral significance of the ceremony. In determining a candidate’s obligations, flexibility is the key. The aim is to build self-confidence by matching expectations to the individual’s interests and degree of motivation. If special coaching is advisable, arrangements can be made.

The rabbi will officiate at the event if requested to do so. Also, he makes his Torah Scroll and portable Holy Ark available for these occasions.

Shir Neshamah invests time and effort in the entire process. The objective is as to make the event an inspiring experience whose positive influences will be passed on to succeeding generations.
